Dear Friends/Admins,

I am going to land in canada next month. Since i have a baby 9 months old, i am planning to send baby and my wife back to native country after around a week after landing.

Is it allright if i land there with their return tickets?

I am asking this because somewhere in this forum, i read that immigration officer refused to issue PR card when landed with return ticket.

Here is that link:

canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/visa-officer-refused-to-fill-pr-card-application-on-landing-t120288.0.html

Is it going to cause any problem in landing or issuing of PR card ??

Seeking your advise,

Sincerely....

mogliboy04, I am not sure what is allowed and what is not. But, my friend and her family came to Canada with their 10 months old daughter last year. When they entered, they came with a return ticket for her and her daughter planning to leave within 6 weeks after getting their PR. They cleared immigration without any problem in shortest possible time of half hour. Hope this helps.

Nobody is going to check ur A/Tkts. Thus whether u have a one-way or return - becomes immaterial.

For ur peace (of mind) let me info u that I 'landed' with return tkts -- and continue to hold return ones till date, purchased everytime I travel back, which is every 5-months, for a few days.

Hi Guys

Is it possible that after getting visa stamp you come alone, stay for some time look for a Job and after some time ur wife and kids join you... :)

Hi Sanjay,

It is possible, but they have to land before their visa expires.
U better ask qorax for proper guidance.

hope this link helps

what I understood is if the return ticket is less than 3 weeks ... It will be a problem ...

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/pr-card/apply-urgent-processing-not-submitted.asp

in the above website its mentioned ....

so when issuing return tickets ,issue it with a gap of 3 weeks and after applying PR card on arrival @ the airport prepone the ticket dates ....

That's perfectly alright... many do so.
But as the below response correctly suggests, be careful of their PRV expiry.
