Can I help my sister

Hi,

It's my first post and before I ask for your advise I want to thank you all for your endless advise and assistants.

I am a protected person and my PR application is still in process, and I want to know if there's anything that I can do to bring my older sister here, she's in our home country and the situation there is getting worse and very danger specially after a religious groups toke over the government and they started to harass women.

I'm very worried and any advise from you guys will be appreciated.

Read over the criteria and see if she will be able to apply as a refugee

She will need to qualify as a refugee independently. If she wants to apply for refugee status from outside of Canada, the first step is to be recognized as a refugee by UNHCR or another recognized referral organization.

As far as I know Yemen is not under any crisis (i.e war, famine, foreign invasion). Now if you feel you are specifically targeted because of what you've written in the newspaper about the government, and government agents are looking to execute you, then YES you can apply for asylum in Canada and it has a good chance to be granted.

I don't know how to explain it but now we have Al-Qaida or they call them selfs Da'aish (Sonei muslim) and Al-Hothi (Sheia'a muslim) and they are taking Yemeni cites one by one and they already toke the government's weapons, camps and ministries. I'm very bad in politics but check Yemen - Al-Jazeera website and you find more info. if you are interested.

I have an uncle in Canada and he's a citizen I will talk to him if he can sponsor her, to be honest she's a doctor and did not get any life threatening or anything but she's alone there I want her out of Yemen before it's to late.

She needs to immigrate on her own.

If she's a doctor perhaps she can check the Federal Skilled Worker program under the medical or paramedical NOC codes.
