There is no legal requirement to inform IRCC of your travels. That is a suggestion only, although it may be in your interest to avoid missing mail, appointments, etc.

So, there is no legal requirement to inform them of being charged or moving either? Why bother listing it on the website if it is only a suggestion.
You'd have to ask them about that. But I assume its mostly a mechanism to prevent lost mail, missed appointments, etc. This has nothing to do with being charged with a crime or changing your residential address.
I have couple of questions here, Was your father sick before you have applied ? Is your father would be OK if you haven't applied yet? The reason I was asking that ,no matter what is the situation, you go to your home country if your father is seriously ill. Forget about the citizenship . It shouldnt be matter if you get it or not.
Father or mother illness rate is significantly higher after citizenship application than before. Seems like we have to start praying for new bill when you have to wait 40 yrs before citizenship application then plenty of our parents wont become sick for next 40 years.
This is the most disgusting and immature reply I have ever seen in this forum.
I really don't understand what you want to say here.
Sometimes life unfolds in a strange way where we are not able to decide what to do. We make plans about our future and start working on those plans and then something else happens.
This person knows his situation better than you. You don't need to give your judgements about his situation. Just answer what he has asked for, if you have the answer.
Who are you to tell him whether he should go home or not or whether he should apply or not.
You should have empathy towards others.
This forum is about helping each other and not criticizing others on their decisions.
And by the way, you need to work on your English skills also.
While Jee876's post is not of your liking, he/she does have a point. He / she is basically saying, your parents, your children, or any family members' health and wellbeing are more important than getting / applying for citizenship.
How would you feel if you came across a person who would rather stay in Canada to meet citizenship requirements than to fly home to look after his / her parents in their time of need when their son or daughter is needed most. Every PR got a lifetime to qualify for citizenship, seriously illed parents don't.
u can go . i went out for 45 days . came back took test and got it
they dont care if u meet 4 year duration . whether u stay or go . once u applied
You obviously missed the point I was making. If, informing CIC of being charged and or changing address is equally important to be listed, it stand to reason that informing them of leaving Canada for more than 2 weeks is just as important.
Agree, people are a little paranoiac on that forum, like we are living in nazi Canada of something like that and you are not allowed to leave
You are really free to leave after citizenship application, just keep ties in Canada and everything will goes well !!
I didn't miss your point at all. You are not required to inform them of a trip lasting more than two weeks. You are required to inform them if you catch a charge or change your residential address --both of which potentially affect the substantive processing of your application. Informing them about leaving on a trip (do they even differentiate between a trip inside and outside of Canada?) is an administrative courtesy/convenience to avoid missed correspondence, etc.
