You can apply for your study permit and at the same time for the Open Work Permit of your spouse. If granted, he/she will be able to accompany you to Canada and can work there freely while you will be studying.

Hi usman_14pk,

thank you very much for your reply... :) :) :)

that answers my query 3 and query 4..

pls can you suggest me chances of getting study visa if I apply for my name or if i apply for my wife's name..

I am asking this because my age is over 35 years now and my study was also completed before 14 years... so if this can have a negative impact on my application for study visa....
what will be chances if I apply for my wife's study visa and applying for Open Work Permit for me??

Pls help to clear this queries

Thanking you in advance :) :)

My frank opinion is that it might be hard for you to get a student visa. Your background is Chemistry and you have been working in insurance industry - so, what are you going to study in Canada? Chemistry or Finance? Choosing either one will raise serious concerns. I dont know if there is any interdisciplinarity courses (chemical insurance?)
If your wife has geniune work experience where you can prove (IT returns, bank balance, salary slip, etc), she has a better chance. Strong SOP will help.

Taking into account that decision on Canadian Visa Application mostly depends on VO discretion I'm not sure that you may be granted study permit (comparing for expample to UK embassy, they have point based system, you get your 40 points you get the study visa, but pathway to permanent residency is tough in UK). Of course this is my personal opinion. Yet I see following points that might work against your application:

1) Large gap from your last studies.
2) You have already master's degree. You may chose master's course in business management. Yet you further study path should be PhD. However, because of your work experience not being related related to science and that gap, VO officer may doubt on your intentions as to be genuine student.
3) And finally but the crucial point, you state that you have applied for FSW program, which means that you have already shown them your intention to get PR. And when applying for study permit you have to prove that you will come back to your home country. Thus VO will consider you as potential immigrant, and may refuse your application.

As you see, Canadian Immigration Laws have double standards: when applying for study permit you have to prove that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, and at the same time other Laws provide students pathway to get PR.

All above said is my personal opinion based on my two rejects and threads read in this forum, and it is up to you how to take next steps.
Hope this was of help to you.

thank you hviveka and Amir_Khalilov...

yes, I also thought so about applying on my name.... it will be difficult
but my wife has related work experience to his education and all supporting docs such as salary slips, appointment letter etc are available, but the main drawback is her english language proficiency, she is not much strong in this

If I apply on name of my wife.... can I go with her as dependent and apply for open work permit or what are ways for me to get valid work permit that allows me to accompany her while she gets study permit...

thanking you for your valuable advice
