I am living in BC and I want to know if I can get some assistance with housing if I Sponsor my husband to Canada?
can I get some rent assistance with housing if I Sponsor my husband to Canada?? is it consider as social assistance or welfare?

i would imagine it would depend on which agency you are getting assistance through so more information is needed to provide accurate help. what agency are you looking to apply for assistance through?

Why do you keep reposting your question? It's very likely it is considered social assistance, since you're asking for money due to you not being able to make ends meet, and not because you are disabled or lost your job. However to be 100% sure you need to contact the department in your province that deals with rent assistance and ask them if it's considered social assistance.

Just apply to sponsor without rent assistance. Deal with it when he gets here. Time's wasting.

Contact them first, see if it's ok. If it's not, you're better off moving to cheaper accomodations or working a second job, it's better than making yourself ineligible to sponsor.
