Hi all,
I am still early in the process for my application. I have an Engineering undergrad degree and a CFA.

I am currently based in the US, and am 27 years of age.

I got max points I could get for my situation (Language, age, bachelors, 3 yrs Work experience in US), but I still end up with just 441 points. The only way I can make my way above 450 is to get some credit for CFA, but I dont think WES or any other agency assesses it?

Was wondering if someone else is in a similar situation? and if there is anything i could do to better my score?

441 seems almost impossible. CRS score has never gone below 450. :(

CRS might go below 450 next week but i'm not sure whether it will reach your 441.

It just isnt possible to do a masters just like that. Will need applications, GMAT etc plus i just finished my CFA. No mood of going for more studies just now.

Are there any expectations around the CRS scores by May etc? or when OINP re-opens?

You're right, masters isn't easy to get, but that's kind of the point of ee. They only want the top skilled applicants. The scores may drop but we have no idea when and by how much. The best thing you can do is work very hard to make yourself better than the other 60,000+ applicants in the pool.

Well my CFA is harder than most Masters program. I know people who passed Masters in Finance etc who acknowledge that CFA is tougher.

The only problem is that none of the CIC Assessment agencies assess it. UK NARIC equates it to a Masters degree, though.
I wish I could use NARIC equivalence somehow?

I could argue that my Masters program was harder than the CFA. it doesn't matter. The bottom line is CIC does not recognize it as a educational degree.

Who says 450 is a threshold? I've never seen that mentioned.

Just wait a bit and see what happens and if it's looking unlikely reassess your options.

True. But that's my point, I dont get any points for it - zippo.

So I dont cross that 450 threshold :(
Don't loose heart too quickly; wait and see. At the moment situation is very positive and hope full for the points to come down.

I myself is after this immigration thing from last 2 n half year with no luck still. But I am not loosing hope and I believe one day I will be able to achieve it.

Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity
To seize everything you ever wanted. In one moment
Would you capture it, or just let it slip?

I agree. Consider all options.

Look for a school in Canada - you might get PR along the way and get rebates on your fees

Look for provincial nomination - getting tougher, but still an option.

French is also an option

Obviously I will seize it.

I already have master with 7 year of experience in my Field. ECA done from University of Toronto. Didn't had enough funds until last December, but finally have collected enough money to meet POF requirements.I am 30+ and so have lost many points for age. Attempting IELTS again on 11th Feb' 2017 to improve my score.

I can't afford education in Canada. Currently have 384 points and if I achieve perfect IELTS score, this will boost my score to 450. So both PNP and EE were out of reach.

Yeah French never consider before but now I will look into it that what are my option as I don't know a word of french. :)

Thanks for boosting m moral. :)
