Can I get a job offer for an occupation with a different NOC code?

I've recently completed my EA profile as well as job seeker (job bank) account. However the occupations offered by job bank systems usually have a different NOC code than the one I've register. For example, while I'm an electrical engineer, they suggest Store Management positions which is obviously out of my world.

Is it possible for someone to apply for a job or receive a job offer in other fields?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
It is usually possible to get such a job AFTER getting your PR and landing in Canada which is the unfortunate reality for a number of immigrants who work in sub-optimal jobs.

I don't imagine it is possible to get a job like that when you're applying from outside Canada.

PLEASE HELP ME - Would like to apply for Canadian PR under FSW

Hi,

I am planning to apply for a PR Visa. I need to know what all documents are required initially to set up my profile ? I have also appeared for IELTS Exam and waiting for the results. In case I do not get enough score, can I still apply with current score and re-appear for exam later and update the score in my profile? Please advise

IELTS and ECA are mandatory requirements to activate your EE profile. You can update your IELTS attempts at any point in time till you get an ITA.

For step by step instructions on Express Entry, check out this detailed message by Yampower.

All the best!

What if they are closely related? For example, I am an electrical engineer, but wish to get a job offer as an electrical technician. Is this still legal?

Yes.

It could be a cause for concern if you want your employer to apply for LMIA on that job because that will open the whole can of worms on this and Services Canada might have uncomfortable questions to your employer on the legitimacy of hiring you for a job for which you are overqualified. If you are a PR or citizen, no one cares if you are overqualified to drive a truck around.
