Hi All!

I have already checked the official website. However, I am interested to know if I can take consider my mom and can consider her during my express entry or PNP application? After the death of my father my mom is staying with me. Can you pls confirm.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

sirdba :'(

You mean to say - dependents in your application?
Unfortunately, IRCC accepts only Wife/husband and children as dependents.
This is as per my understanding. I feel they should provide some measures to accommodate parents as well in PR application.

I guess you could have your mom come over on a tourist visa once settled in Canada.

You can't include your mother in your PR application. That is, if your PR application is approved, she won't get PR along with you. Once you are a permanent resident, you can sponsor her under family class sponsorship, but the process is tedious.

+1 Shipper.
Parents / siblings are considered for family class sponsorship after we get our PR.

What does it mean? Can I take my mom if I get the PR? But during my PR application I shall not be able to include her as dependent?

Your mother is not a dependent and cannot be included in your app.

If you become a PR, you will need to meet the income requirement in Canada for 3 years before you can sponsor your mother. Assuming you meet the income requirement in 2017, 2018 and 2019, you will be able to apply for sponsorship in 2021.

Thank you for the valuable info.......OMG....that's a real long time.....meanwhile could you suggest a few easy ways (non PR ways) to have your parents with you in Canada after obtaining PR.

There are no "easy ways". They could apply for a TRV or Super visa.
