My question is related to claiming points for job offer in Express Entry FSW stream.

Quite confused reading a lot of threads that say both yes and no to claiming job offer points with respect to candidates holding work permits (including PGWP).

* I have been working with Company "A" in a U.S. location from Aug 2016 - Feb 2018 (over 1 year 6 months).
* Company "A" obtained a LMIA-exempt closed work permit for me based on intra-company transfer (“Canadian interests” category).
* I moved to it's Toronto office in March 2018 and have been working here since then. So it's been just over 3 months in Canada now. (March 2018 to present).
* There's no break or gap in employment with Company "A".

I clarify again that this is a LMIA-exempt 'CLOSED' work permit with my employer's name issued on the work permit.

Am I eligible to claim job offer points based on this snippet from link below?

if you have a valid work permit for a NOC 0, A or B job that is exempt from needing an LMIA, and you:
  • are currently working for an employer specified on the work permit -- I am
  • have one year of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) for that employer -- Yes, I do have over 1 year (US and Canada combined). But ONLY 3+ months in Canada. Is this Canada-specific 1 year requirement?
  • have a valid job offer from that employer for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa -- Yes, I can get a job offer issued from my employer that can be valid for many years to come.

No - you cannot claim job offer points at this time. You'll have to wait until you have worked in Canada for 1 full year before you will be able to claim job offer points under an ICT visa.

Yep u have to wait a year.

Im also trying to get ICT work visa from my company’s Canadian office. Could you tell me how long it took for the whole process and any details you could give on the docs requested and timelines for the different steps?

What was the process to get kids in school would be my follow up question:)

Hello All,

Have a query can someone please answer, can we claim additional (50) points in the below scenario:

Currently working with a Canadian employer in Canada on a closed work permit (valid till 2024 LMIA exempt) in “A” role (completed 1.6 years in this “A” role as well) now I received a new job offer with this same employer for a “B” position/role. Clear job description and salary etc are indicated in the new offer letter.

Can we claim additional 50 points For this new job offer? Also these changes are well communicated to IRCC, also it was confirmed that it meets eligibility criteria(Via a letter).

at this stage in my express entry can Claim. 50 additional points? Or not

Thank you
