Yes. Further, people who are refused on closed work permits and initially refused win when they appeal - but many don't appeal. The case law on this is clear: you pay EI, you can claim the benefits.

I believe the law has been changed or about to be changed about EI claims and working visa's. As I read it, no temporary worker can claim EI at all.

I would check up with your local office about the new rules.

Can you provide any citation to this?

If you cannot collect EI, you should not be required to pay EI. That's the basis of previous case law in this area.
