I have 17 months of experience, but by Dec I will have 2 years. Is it safe to claim 2 years in anticipation that by the time they process my application I will have the 2 years?

You should claim the no. of years of experience you have at the time you lodge your application.

If you have 1 year and 17 months of experience now and if you plan to apply now then you will be awarded no. of points for only 1 year.

No apply with 17 months experience , whene ever you complete two years, inform the VO with additional documentation supporting your claim (In this case a new reference letter). If the application is not processed till that time then VO will consider the most updated information on file. If information is processed before that you get points only for 1 year

Yep...
When you apply, whatever you are at that time (Experience/IELTS etc) will be considered by the CIO and decision made accordingly. What you plan to do or get is speculations/planning on our part.

SO anything that is sent to CIO will be considered at that time, provided you have sent sufficient proof.

Thanks for all the responses so far. My problem is that I am borderline with the points and if I claim only one year I will have less than 67, but if I claim 2 years I will have about 68. Does it need to be Continuous experience? I have 19 months of continuous experience + another 5 months of paid internships during college (there is a gap of 5 months in between) for a total of 24 months. Also, can I get any extra points for a CPA license? Also, how may points will I get for a Bachelor's degree with 2 majors? It took me 12 years of school + 3 years in university (completed all the course work for a bachelor's degree but no diploma) + 3 years for an Associates degree (diploma) + 3 years to get my Bachelor's degree with 2 majors (diploma)= total of 21 years education.

20 points for a single bachelor degree. Paid internships are unlikely to count as skilled work. No a CPA will not give you extra points.

Thanks PMM, but my internships were for legitimate accounting firms, and my duties were exactly the same as a full-time associate
