I got interest letter from Ontario on Dec 4. I applied with NOC 2172. Can I change it to 2171?

Is this just for provinicial nomination? will there be any interviews based on this?

I can not give a definitive answer on this, but, as far I know you have received an interest based on the details of your EOI.

The details would have to match when you proceed further with your EOI and apply. Changing the NOC would require a new EOI and new Ontario interest letter to be received.

As i said this is purely my understanding. Wait to hear more.

Hello all,

I just recently got PT Notification from Ontario and when I created my EE Profile, I had selected NOC 4163 - Business development officers and marketing researchers and consultants

Could you please someone see the following reference letter and tell if it matches to NOC 4163 description? My employer is more than happy to cooperate.

I think you will be fine if you include a brief LOE as to why you're changing it. NOC 2171 and 2172 seem pretty related (caveat: coming from a non-IT person so I could be way off). I don't see much problem here. Some posters above seem to think it might be an issue. But If I were in your position and if I had a compelling reason to switch the NOC at this stage, I would just go with it. If the duties and responsibilities of your profession more closely matches that under NOC 2171 (with a few overlapping under NOC 2172), then the OINP folks should understand the confusion.

I advise that you reach out to Asivad Anac and other senior posters for a more thoughtful answer. Best wishes.
