Can I cancel my visit visa health insurance?

Hello,

I have applied for visit visa of Canada from Pakistan and the application is in progress. I bought visit visa insurance from Aug 3 - Aug 24. But seems like my application will take longer and my insurance will go to waste. Can I cancel that so I can save money? What if they check with insurance company and say I lied on application?

Doubtful they will check with an insurance company to confirm. You would want to have some sort of coverage when you arrive as CBSA May want to see it before they permit entry.

They will not check with the insurance company. Ensure you do have coverage when you come to Canada.

Thanks guys, I ended up cancelling insurance coverage, saved me few dollars.
