I'm going up next week to Toronto to look for a place to live for the fall. I'd like to take up our computer and leave it there with my employer so it doesn't have to get moved in a container with the rest of our belongings later. Does this mean I would have to present a B4 form for the computer, AS WELL AS a B4 form of goods to follow that includes everything we'll bring later? We don't have anything packed yet, and I hear they're quite strict about letting you bring in anything that isn't on the goods to follow form.

Thanks!

even though this says all the mumbo jumbo http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-border.asp

when I landed and presented the goods filled forms, the officers said that it won't be necessary and did not take it.

Yes, same experience here!

I have laptops and took it carry on. I no one asked me anything or said anything about it.
