Hello everyone,

As the title says, I'm currently a worker in Canada with a Post-Graduate Work Permit. I wanted to bring my wife to live with me in Canada. All the resources I read were about Family Class sponsorship which requires me to have a PR or citizenship. I was wondering if there are other programs or ways to bring my wife if I only have an open work permit.

Thanks.

If you are working a NOC 0, A or B job then your wife would be eligible for an open work permit as well. But with the travel restrictions, it's hard to say he she can enter Canada or not.

Just clarifying that in this situation you qualify to apply for an OWP for your spouse. In situations where the spouses have recently been married and they have very little time spent together some do get denied. With time they tend to get approved.

Are you referring to Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP)? I was under the impression that my spouse would be eligible to apply for it if she is also with me in Canada, but in my case she is not. Also if she's eligible for SOWP, does she require a job offer to apply or no?

Thanks
