My situation.
- Landed as PR in 2017
- In the past 5 years, I have only been out of Canada for only 40 days
- In the past 5 years, I have been working full-time in Canada
- In the past 5 years, my wife and my kids have spent 70% in Canada with me
- My wife is PR, and my kids are citizens

Am I good to leave Canada after the submission of the pgp application?
Only me traveling and Aand I'm planning to travel for around 4 months back to my country to visit my grandma, she is 85 now and very ill. This time I'm only sponsoring my parents not my grandparents
Will I have any trouble with the pgp application?

Hello,
They are not taking new applications for 2022 parent sponsorship program. The draw will be done from the applications submitted in 2020. If you have already submitted your interest in 2020 then your application will be considered for the lottery. I don’t think there will be any issue if you are not in canada.

You can certainly travel out (long or short). No restrictions what-so-ever. Make sure you have renewed your PR card and got the same in hand before you leave to avoid trouble re-entering. Moreover PGP process can easily take over 2+ Years.
