Can I apppear for IELTS General Category exam in India for PNP?

I am going to Toronto on 11th Aug 2014. I am much interested in the Ontario PNP program as my course is 1 year duration only and offers Masters Degree. Will it be a good idea to take IELTS here in India? Will it become valid in Canada as they ask for minimum of 7 Bands as a requirement for PNP Ontario program?

Please advice me so I can start preparing for IELTS.

You can give your IELTS in any part of thw world.. The Validity of The IELTS will be 2 years from the date of your examination.
