To apply for a work permit you first need to find an employer in Canada who is willing to offer you a full time job and that employer has to obtain an approved LMIA. You need to have both the full time job offer and the approved LMIA to qualify to apply for a work permit.

So your first step is to find an employer and job in Canada.

thank you Scally for sharing your thought
what means LMIA? i think it gonna be difficult to find employer in canada since my partner living in quebec
we all know its gonna be diffucult to find work in quebec if you didnt know how to speak french.

LMIA is a process the employer has to go through in order to hire a foreign worker. The LMIA process takes months to complete (can take over six months) and costs the employer $1,000 in fees plus advertising costs. As part of the process, the employer has to prove they advertised the job and could not hire a Canadian for the role.

LMIA process is very difficult to do, and most employers will not bother with it unless you have some education or experience in a job field that they really need.

Realistically, you should expect that you can't work in Canada until your PR app is completely approved.

Yes - it's a lot of work. And it's typically very difficult to find an employer willing to go through the process.

We are indeed in a very similar situation. I am a Canadian citizen and my transgender partner is in the Philippines.

As i understand, you and your partner already applied for an Outland PR Conjugal Sponsorship. And you want to apply TRV but you dont have strong ties in your country. correct?

I would assume that you are in the Philippines.is that right? Are you asking if possible for you to apply a working visa while your pr is in process?

you know if you were in my situation you will be crazy what you'll gonna do to get TRV to be close to your love one.

The best thing you can do is read this: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/visitor-visa-grantedwife-of-pr-t273759.0.html

Pretty much the same situation as you. That's what you have to be able to provide to get a TRV as a PR applicant. You won't get an LMIA unless you are highly skilled at an in-demand profession in Canada.

You are better off getting any kind of job in the Philippines than to bother trying in Canada.

Hair dressing isn't a job a Canadian can't do though, it's not in-demand in that sense. But, no harm in trying, I don't know much about it but maybe look into temporary foreign workers. They do hire people to work customer-service type jobs in areas they are short on people (like up north). I don't know if that program is still going or not though.
