Can I apply with a PCC that is four month old?

Nothing wrong in collecting other people's opinions though. IRCC has pretty confusing rules when it comes to PCC. I thought the PCC is valid until 6 months. I'm just a bit surprised to know that IRCC resets timer on my Indian PCC just because I dared to go outside India as a tourist for a few weeks.

My advise is that unless a Canadian regulated lawyer here says that you are good, you are at risk. It has been 10 days since you've asked this question and you are still not sure about it. The best thing you can do right now is to get on a call with a RCIC or a lawyer. It won't cost you much and after-all it could lead to cancellation of your application if you make any mistake. My advice is to not DIY when you are stretched too thin and not getting very specific info.

It's a hassle. You have to pay *cough cough * extra charges and then the police here isn't the politest either. At least not where I live.

Well i guess every country has its own rules, i didn't even know that you have to pay for PCC because it's your right.
In Algeria you don't even have to go to the police station, there is a database online you create your account and get you PCC in few minutes.

I would say, in my country it was a bit annoying. The wait times for an appointment to get a PCC is ~3-4 weeks. Then you get a call from your local police station and they visit your home/call you to police station and ask for a bribe.

It is not a very pleasant experience so some users here (including me) will not love the idea of going through PCC again

It is more than a hassle tbh. For some applicants, police do everything to harass them. From rejecting valid addresses to sitting on top of the application for weeks to create urgency - they do everything. We've one more PCC that we will have to do, that'll be for citizenship. I haven't heard BLS asking for a bribe, so that makes me happy

I am actually shocked.
4 weeks to get an appointement, when it is suppose to be a database that you can acces to it anytime as a police officer.
In my country it is called "casier judiciaire", it is not even deliverable on paper, it is only by internet with your own bar code verifiable by internet on the website of the Ministry of Justice.
With your testimony, i now undestand why a lot of people are complaining about that in this forum.

I wonder if there is any chance they can waive off another verification since I got mine done within last 5 months.The scary part is if the verification doesn’t turn out well then they can even impound your passport. Even if the verification was done for PCC. You must feel so good to have a PR of a developed country. Must be a total weight coming off.

Unlikely that they'll impound your passport. Because that would mean they have to prove you were in the wrong, which they won't be able to. Someone will likely lose their job and pension over it.

But they can surely sit on top your application to make you desperate. Last few steps for you my friend. That's why I suggest get on a call with a RCIC, pay them for an hour (it's cheap) and see what they think. If an RCIC says you don't need a new PCC, you're good to go!

The PCC in India is issued by passport office (which is backlogged) - hence the delay with appointments. The real problem is when passport office issues a notice to your local police station for FINAL confirmation - which is where our lovely policemen show up

Hello. Thanks a lot! Can you please tell me one more thing. I actually did go to Dubai on a tourist visa to meet a sick relative and then also to Sri Lanka for a few days. So will this invalidate my Indian PCC? Will I have to get a new one now?

Please can you help me. I have the same problem. I had my PCC issued in September in anticipation. Traveled out of country just for 6 days post that. It's Dec so technically PCC is still valid. It's within 7 months but does the travel invalidate my PCC? I am like u resident of India. Applying as Outland. What did u do eventually. Did u redo PCC n submit post travel or the earlier one worked. Kindly guide. As u know it's hell to get PCC here.

The 6 months validity is for those PCC that you are resident of that country. If you applied for PCC for India and from India the validity applies. You can submit your application with this PCC even if you traveled outside for tourist purposes - does not invalidate your Indian PCC.
ADR for PCCs were a special request during covid and is not expected under the current times.
Having said that, PCC here just takes 2 weeks max, a recent one would certainly be preferable.

Please can you help me. I have done my India PCC in October and got ITA dec. But in between travelled a week overseas. Indian resident, applying from India. does that make my PCC invalid? Kindly guide I need to submit or do I need a new one?
