Can i apply Visitor Visa online from Canada using my CIC Account for Parents

Hi All,

I am in work-permit and currently working in Canada. Planning to apply visitor visa for my parents for 6 months.
Can i apply Visitor Visa online from Canada using my CIC Account or not.

I tried to create profile in CIC website and its asking me to fill use of representative form, but i got to know that only licensed representative can only represent applications.
i am planning to call my parents to canada on 8th Nov 16. no much time.

alternatively i can apply from India through travel consultants, some told me it take more than 2months, but one consultancy told me it requires 15-20 working days.
i am really confused and getting tensed, since we are expecting baby in Jan17, one of my friend coming to canada on Nov 8th so that my parents come along with them.

please suggest.

Hi,

First, do NOT apply/invite your parents for 6 months. That shows very weak ties which increases the possibility of refusals.

You can prepare their applications/email it to them..... except for some documents like your parents' bank statements, etc which originals are required. They can submit the applications/apply at a VFS nearest to where they live.

You can check the estimated processing time on the IRCC website. it is currently 34 days.

Also, do not give the purpose of visit as your baby's birth.

I recommend you go through this forum before you apply

Here my point is Online application is quick from canada with 10 days. from India it would be atleast one month.

Please suggest online application from would be better or Paper application from India.?

are we suppose to apply Visitor visa for family members from canada online using our CIC account?

As your parents live in India, you must apply for TRVs (outside Canada) = 34 days.

You cannot apply for their TRVs like as if they are applying from within Canada

Please suggest online application from would be better or Paper application from India.?
