Hi,

I need to know based on following criteria.

I am UK national working since 2008 in my field.

Have UK masters degree in same field.

Arrived with my wife and 3 kids.

My age 35 yr 6 months

Arrived in Canada last year November 20th 2016

On Lmia work permit , Noc 5241

Working in BC province.

Since it's a temp.visa I. Need to know my chances to apply for a PR.

What I investigated so far on CIC website is that I need to give celpic or ielts test and then get my non candian masters degree credentials verified before I can even make a profile to start up the process.

Did anyone follow same path ???

Please advice.

Yes, you need to have CELPIP or IELTS result and education credentials assessed before you make your profile.

that's right.

we are in the same situation, living in BC for almost 2 years and on work permit for a year with a LMIA.
We just applied for PR last month.

you do need IELTS or CELPIP for yourself and your family members (if you ant to claim more points) as well as educational credentials assessed.

yep same here, we are here in toronto from past 7 months on workpermit and on LMIA. we applied in EE FSW category last month. AoR on Dec 24th. You need to have IELTS/WES ready to apply.

So can I do this straight away or do I have to wait for 6 months in this , does my employer need to know that I am going for PR?? As I am on their dependent visa which might concern them a bit?? Thanks

While it's not mandatory for your spouse to take up IELTS or CELPIP, the spouse factor gets 40 points

upto 10 Points for Education evaluation
upto 20 Points for Language test
up to 10 points for Canadian work experience

It's always good to have more CRS points.

Good luck there!

How many points are needed where can I find the break down about how many points I tried to look at CIC website but it's not clear that how many points are needed and how much I can get on each factor like my age degree and experience. May be then my wife doesn't have to give this test? Thanks
