Can I apply online with my passport which will expire in two months ?

My classes start from 8 May,2016. I have to apply for VISA asap. But my passport will expire in two months.

Can I apply with my passport which will expire in two months and then once application is approved send them my new passport ?


It will take weeks to get a new passport. Please anyone reply !

This is not possible. You can apply but it will be refused, and you cannot send the passport afterwards.

Do you already have a visa and this will be an extension? Because if so, you could submit your application before your current permit expires. Your application will be refused, but you will be under implied status until a final decision is made.

In this way, you can "buy" some extra time to finish your passport renewal, and then submit the application again with the new passport.

You can still study under implied status, but if you don't apply before the permit expires, you lose your status and you cannot study.
