Hello forums!

I'm currently under a work visa from Australia employed with a fulltime job and have gained around 44 weeks of full time work. Just recently I was diagnosed a heart condition from the flu which taken me about 3 months to recover from. During that period I was put on part time hours due to my heart and physical activity reduction so I pretty much have around 12-13 weeks of part time hours I worked.

Can I send in my application now or do I need to wait until I gain 52 weeks of fulltime hours or do the 12-13 weeks of part time hours count?

yes, you can apply with part-time weeks; you just need to calculate the right way

hey dude sorry to hear about ur heart condition, hope ur ok now.
Well to apply firstly u would need to show 1440 hours in experience, full time or part time equivalent.
I recommend u apply when u have those hours cos the initial check at the Nova scotia mail room will reject u as soon as they see ur not close to 1440 hours and then u gotta wait n wait n wait to apply again so... apply when u finish 1440 hours

Yes, you can use the part-time hours but you will have to work longer than one year (52 weeks) to acquire the experience.

First, to clarify, part-time is any week where you work fewer than 30 hours per week.

You will need to calculate the full-time equivalent (FTE) of your part-time hours by adding them up and dividing by 30. You will be eligible after you acquire another 8 weeks in FTE hours (44 weeks FT + 8 weeks FTE = 52). That is, you will need 240 part-time hours. And remember, that is a MINIMUM requirement, not a maximum! I recommend giving yourself a cushion (e.g work an extra month) if possible before applying.

Thanks, so add up the part time hours and convert them to 30 hour weeks? Gotcha! Thanks a bunch!
