Hi, I applied for my parents super visa on April 10th 2024. We received a request for a medical exam on May 15th, 2024 but after the medical exam, my mother was called again for a sputum test which will take about 6-8 weeks to get results. I have already booked flights for my parents for July 15. I really want them to be here for the delivery of my new born. A few questions:

1. Is it okay if I apply for a visitor visa for my mom meanwhile? They are only going to stay in Canada for about 2 months and qualify completely for a tourist visa.
2. On what grounds - can the visitor visa rejected in such a case?
3. Can a visitor visa application negatively impact their super visa application?
4. Would a visitor visa application also require a medical exam?
5. I applied for both my parents in one application, would my mother being stuck in medical, also impact my dad's supervisa application. He cleared his medical.

It would be great to have answer to the questions above. Thank you!

1. They can.
2. Not enough of their own funds to support a visit, no family/economic ties to return, no travel history
3. It shouldn’t but IRCC has access to file. And if she had TB or has TB then she would need to be under medical surveillance. TB is taken seriously.
4. No
5. His supervisa may be approved.

You should not book flights.

Hi,

Have you got the supervisa or visitor visa approved for your parents?
