By that time I might not get the PR card.. still can I travel.??
Initially when I came on WP to Canada people told me to wait atleast for 6 months to apply for visiting visa.. Is it ok if i apply with in a month of landing?

I would say it would be better if you receive your PR card and apply.

One thing you can do is you can apply now and take the appointment for VISA interview leaving the Gap of some period of time (6-7 week) would be better.

Sometime thos officers are very moody, if they asked you to show them your PR card and you said not have right now or in process of printing, you will increase the chances of VISA rejection. Think twice and secure all the necessary documents.

Great post.. I am also planning to apply visit visa after landing. In case if the officer ask us for the PR card we can show CoPR and record of landing is it not enough? I know US VO's are very moody it is better to think all these cases before applying.

STRONGLY AGREE and same I am planning to do

You must have PR card when you apply for US visa (). My wife's visa application was put on hold and she was asked to email scanned copy of PR card. She sent it after couple of weeks and then she received B1/B2 visa for 10 years within a week.
