Hello, i'm currently doing an intensive LPN course which is 1,2. years, and I've been wondering, once I get to 6 months, can I get a declaration from my college and apply for the live in caregiver? or do I need to complete it to get the diploma to apply? i'd be very grateful if anybody could clear this out for me.

To the best of my knowledge the training has to be completed to be claimed - it can't be in progress.

I see, I thought so, i'm afraid that the program will end before I get my diploma and won't be able to apply, do you know if the program will still be around in about 2 years?

Unfortunately no one here can answer that question.

However this program has been around for years and I don't think there's been any sign it's going away.

Hi @Scylla

my question pertains to the LIC program.

Provided that I entered Canada via visit visa, qualified for the LIC program and found an employer who is willing to file for LMIA. Can I stay in Canada while in process?

I also have a valid US visa (multiple) so in case application for work permit will be filed in the US.

Need your advise.

You would need to ensure you visitor status is valid in Canada while you wait. This might mean that you have to apply for an extension to your visit. The fact you have applied for an LIC visa doesn't allow you to stay in Canada. However personally, I would leave Canada and apply from outside of Canada since one of the conditions of acceptance is that you have strong ties to your home country. Higher chances of approval if you are living in your home country rather than staying as a visitor on an extended visit in Canada.

In such scenario, will it cancel my existing TRV if LIC is rejected?
