Hi All,

Previously i posted a topic stating that 'I got my PR rejected'.Now i want to correct my statement.
Actually i applied for PR last year (2009) but within a month i got reply from CIC stating that "Iam not satisfied that your work experience corresponds to NOC 0213, Computer and Information Systems Managers.Your application is therefore not eligible to be processed".

In the end they also stated that "Although you have not satisfied the requirements to apply under Federal Skilled worker class, you may qualify under another category".

coming to my profile, Iam a Team Leader(software) in a recognized company. When i applied for PR i applied with the same designation but they(CIC) has some job codes which required "IT Manager" which didnt match their requirements. So eventually my application was rejected in the initial stage itself.I got the rejection letter within 2 months after i applied for PR.I didnt even send my passport to the CIC.It was closed in the intial stage.

So I want to know that, if i apply for student visa now, what are my chances of getting visa?

Please share with me your experiences/suggestions regarding this issue...

Thanks in advance

I want to do project management course which would fetch me better jobs in my country.we have lot of openings for this PM positions here after recession.thats the reason i want to apply for study visa.earlier i was misguided so i had applied for PR which i later realised was a mistake.

It is likely that it will be rejected as the visa officer may assume that you wanna immigrate this way after your PR rejection. And honestly this is what 99% would think I believe ... ::)

Oh I see, so canada doesn't provide visa for aspirants from other countries. But they say people can immigrate to their country as they require man power.I dont understand why would they reject a student visa simply because i have applied for PR earlier. They should also consider various aspects before taking a decision. And in my refusal letter they clearly stated that i can apply to canada in different ways other than what i selected. So they should think before refusing visa.

You can but I bet they meant one of the regular ways to immigrate eg. FAM,CEC or PNP. I still think that your previous PR application will weaken your case if you go for a student visa. I know the system is kinda ....

However you can attach a good letter of explanation detailing why you wanna go to study to Canada. That may help. Good luck! ;)

Thanks Matt for the information!!! :)

I will apply for study permit.I will state my condition clearly in SOP.Hope for positive response.
