Can i apply for spouse work permit if i submit for express entry?

Hello

I am a PGWP holder (valid 2017-2020) I have just started the process for applying for express entry which I know will take a while. The thing is, my husband is here on a visitor's visa and I would like to apply for his work permit since the application may take a while. He is already on implied status because I submitted an application for an extension of his visit.

So the real question is, can i apply for his work permit while waiting on invitation to apply? or should i submit his work permit application first then submit my express entry application after?

The thing is we have a 4 month old that was born here in Canada and i do not want him to have to leave us.

There is no relation between the PR process and the work permit process. So, you can apply for his work permit right away if you want, just make sure that you are eligible to do so. For example, you have to have a job under NOC 0, A, or B before he applies for the work permit. Good luck!

Thanks for your response. So can I submit the work permit application for him even after I have already submitted the PR application? I jus wnt to know if it's possible to have both going at the same time.
