Can I apply for PGWP extension whenever I want?

Hello all.


I have recently applied for my PGWP in May 2016. I got a 4 year degree from an accredited university, so my PGWP should be issued for 3 years, but due to my passport expiring next year in June 2022, I only got my PGWP approved until that date. I have recently renewed my passport, can I apply now for my PGWP or do I need to wait 90 days before my expiration to apply for extension?

Also, I did not get any remark at the end of my PGWP that I could apply for an extension given my passport expiring, I can still apply right?

Send a message to IRCC to explain your situation and ask if you can get the extension now or have to wait till next year.
