Additionally, can I work while I applied for a visitor visa during implied status from a work permit? If not, when do I have to stop working?

Yes - you can apply for a TRV.

You only have implied status that may allow you to work if you had a work permit and applied for a new work permit before the first work permit expired. Where you are able to work also depends on what work permit you first held. You'll need to provide more details and dates in order for anyone to be able to tell you if you can continue working.

My work permit expired on April 19th, but I applied for a permit before that. So now I am on implied status. So if I now change condition to visitor at this time, will I have to stop working right now or can I continue working despite getting a visitor status? Thank you.

Your immigration status is determined every time you enter the country. If you go out of Canada and come back in again on a visitor visa, you are no longer authorized to work.

Ok thank you, but to be clear, does that mean that I CAN make a visitor application while on implied status and suppose I get it in 8 days from now, then I can continue to work despite having a visitor visa and being on implied status waiting the outcome of a work permit extension?

I am really interested in any response or update here. I have a similar case. i applied for an OWP while in Canada, before the expiration of my current WP, and i was given an implied status still awaiting decision on the OWP. However, i had to travel out of Canada for a pressing issue. Can i apply for a visitor visa from outside Canada while still awaiting the outcome of the OWN application. Reason is that i would like to spend the Christmas with my family in Canada, and am not sure if decision on the OWP will be out early enough for me to apply for a Visa extension. Appreciate a response and guidance from more experienced people of the forum please. thanks.

Yes, you should apply for a TRV. You need the TRV to be able to travel back to Canada regardless what happens.

Thanks so much everyone.
Finally, the PGWP approval has just come.
However, a key question though - now that i have travelled out of Canada for a pressing business need and family matter, how do I proceed with the application for a TRV to get back to Canada. I have been browsing through the IRCC website, but I don't seem to find the right form or process to use.

Appreciate any advice from anyone.
I really would like to handle this urgently because I am seriously missing my wife and kids who are still in Canada. Haven't seen them for close to 5months.

You apply for a TRV. There is no special TRV for a PGWP holder. You should not have left Canada without applying for the TRV or should have applied as soon as you entered whatever country you are in. Processing for TRV depends on the country you are applying from and can take many months. There is no special processing.

What are the necessary documents for applying job in canada if I am doing business here in ny country???

You would need to be planning to establish a business in Canada, obtain an approved LMIA and then apply for a work permit. Businesses in Canada can only be started by Canadian permanent residents or citizens so you would also need to find a Canadian partner. Alternatively you can try qualifying and applying for PR through the Start Up Visa program. As part of this process, you will need to find a designated organization in Canada that is willing to invest in your idea.
