Hi Guys

Adding my wife is reducing my CRS score from 458 to 446. I have a few questions here:

1. Can(or should) I apply as a single? What do you guys recommend?
2. Once I get my PR, can I easily sponsor my wife?
3. Any Idea on how long does spouse sponsorship take?

Many thanks in advance

1 - That'd be misrepresentation.
2 - If you apply as single you'll never be able to sponsor your spouse.
3 - 80% of the applications get processed within a year.

Thanks for answering. So in case if I mention that my wife is not coming with me, will this have any effect on CRS score?

Actually, I am not married yet. Marrying this December.
1 year processing time is quite long. In case I select to go with 446 CRS score, what is the chance of being selected? Any idea?

So you are not legally married yet? Are you living together as common law partner? If not, then as of right now you need to apply as single.

If your CRS is 446, create your EE profile as single, get ITA, submit application, get married, add your spouse to your application, land in Canada together and live happily...

446 is a good CRS. you will get ITA.

What are you talking about? The last draw happened on July 11, and had a cut-off of 442. It's very likely you will receive an ITA if you create your profile now

He's not married yet : )

It has cutoff CRS scores from previous draws. So seems like 446 is not a very good score but might be just enough to receive ITA. Offcourse past is no guarantee of future.
Exactly right.

So I have decided to apply with my wife early next year.
FWIW, I think that is a good decision. It is much simpler to do it together as a married couple, than having to try to sponsor a spouse later.

WIth 446 CRS score, you will surely get ITA in next draw if you have an EE profile now.. Or, create one with your spouse assp..

Thanks guys

Thanks to all of you for helping me decide

Just remember that you will lose 5 points on your birthday. 446 is good but any lower might be a struggle.
