Can getting an off-campus work permit jeaprodize PGWP?

Based on the CIC website it seems that there should be not problem but I read an anecdote on these forums about someone who was on an 8 month study program and applied for an off campus work permit after 6 months as soon as possible. They said that their PGWP was denied because the visa authorities thought they weren't a bonafide student and just wanted to work. Is there any truth to this? I was planning on getting my off campus work permit right after 6 months so I could pursue internships but now I'm paranoid it will effect my chances of getting a PGWP. Anybody here got their off campus permit and PGWP without any problems?

1. I am aware of this case. Most likely due to poor academic performance/class attendance.

helo enfield can u tell me bout ur case and how long did u wait for visaa......as i am also waiting from 1 and a half months nd my classes is from 7th may....did u think i have to defer my classes or they vil despatch my pasport...nd i think u know bout my case as i was asked to do re - med

Hi,

Either it would be a;
1. Visa approval or,
2. Request for "Letter of Late-Registration" (applicable if you are a SPP student) or,
3. If 2 isn't possible, request for "Letter of Deferral" (doesn't matter if it's upto next semester or year) or,
4. If there are some issues after re-medical, a direction for further/re-medicals.

Chest specialist will give me report in next week and i will submit it to DMP........Very difficult to attend May session..........

Not any big problem.........All the tests(Chest XRAY and Sputum ABF i think) are clear but if i submit the report in next week then it will be difficult for me to join classes for May because it takes some time after medical (from Pakistan)..............Concordia University ...Master in applied computer science...............University has told me to wait till 20th April and then defer...................
