Can "Forgery of Documents" be considered a crime that might penalize me?

Dear all,

I have a really serious concern. I need to clarify smth before starting getting the documents together for the application. I have fine to pay. It is a court decision since I am sentenced for forgery of documents.
This appears on the police certificate.

Is this a potential reason for rejecting my application? Is this considered a crime? I have been doing some research about criminal convictions that might potentially be a penalty for my application, and i didn't see such a thing that may include my case, but need to be sure though.

Please let me know your opinion. I would really appreciate any advice, especially based on experience.

You'll need to determine if you are inadmissible to Canada due to this crime. You can find information about inadmissibility here, however it would likely be a good idea to consult with a lawyer as well.

Yes, forgery is a serious crime for sure. How would you satisfy the VO that the documents you are providing are not forged if you have a case already in your name for forgery? If it was not a crime, why would you get sentenced?? You are trying to come to a country where crimes are taken very seriously and punished and one would have to change these habits to live peacefully. Once you have a crime on your file, it is going to be there forever even if you are given pardon. It is like a thread that is broken and knotted but knots will be there forever.
