Can Dependent Child Travel outside Canada

I recently applied for Dependent Child PR sponsorship for my kid. I am the only sponsor (No co-sponsor). Can my kid travel outside Canada for 4 months? I will be in Canada during that time frame (except for 2 weeks when I ll be out of Canada).
I have been living in Canada for 1 year now.

I believe there is only the 'outland' type of sponsorship for dependent children applications (even if they are in Canada), so no problem if the child leaves. Note, I'm NOT making any comment about ability to return on current docs or health care or other aspects.

Also note, what happens when passport request comes may differ depending on whether child is in Canada or out.
