Can Computer Engineer (2147) apply as an Electrical Engineer (2133) in FSW 2014?

Hi,

I am a Computer Engineer. I read the NOC description and it is similar to an Electrical Engineer. As a matter of fact most of the universities including Canadian offer one degree under the title of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Can anyone advise me if I am eligible to apply as Electrical and electronics engineers (2133) if I have a degree in Computer Engineering? Btw there is a list of NOCs under each NOC 2011 description which states "Classified Elsewhere".

I am copying the following from the document:

I too am new to this, so take this with a grain of salt.

I understand that you are classified primarily by your work experience. What does your work experince letter say? If the duties match that of Computer Engineer, that's what you are. If Electrical Engg, then that's what you are. The duties should match, your Title has no significance.

Once you determine your NOC from the duties, then you should also have the qualifications. The qualifications always comes after the duties.

Unlikely as you require A bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering or in an appropriate related engineering discipline is required.
