Can cancel PR based on PNP and apply for direct ITA?

Hi Guys,

I need help and your views, actually I applied for SINP and got the ITA on which I got the PR also, I haven't landed in Canada, but saw that ITA CRS score has dropped to good levels on which I can secure the direct ITA also, so would it be an option to cancel my current PR (based on SINP) and apply fresh PR if I get direct ITA, as then I won't be bound to live in Saskatchewan only. I came to know there is strict rule to live in nominated province for atleast 3 years.

I plan to settle in Saskatchewan as of now, but don't want to limit my growth opportunities by getting bounded in Saskatchewan only, when I see the chance that I can get ITA directly.

Please suggest.

They cannot force you to live all your life in Saskatchewan. Your intentions are clear that you want to settle in Saskatchewan right now which is the requirement of SINP. If you get better opportunities in other provinces, you can certainly pursue them. The province cannot justify that you stay in Saskatchewan with a job that pays 50k a year when you have an offer for 100k in Ontario or elsewhere. You are officially a Canadian resident now. you can live anywhere in Canada. You would only be violating the SINP if your only intention was to sign up to get the PR and then move out immediately.

If you have already received your PR, it does not make sense to give it up and reapply. I don't think anyone would recommend that you do that.

Unfortunately what you say is technically possible on papers, but not worth pursuing in reality. You will find yourself in so much mess doing what you propose.

If you look at things this way, plenty of people wasted $1500 fees on OINP last year, waited nearly for year for processing, just to get nomination when for the scores for which they would have got direct ITA this year. I know people with 465 ending up with OINP.

Many also ended up with PNPs from much economically smaller provinces like NS, NB too.

Plenty of them did IELTS several times wasting lot of money, many pursued studying French, finally to see cut offs dropping to what they had pre-improvement.

Better not to follow scores and anymore focus on settling SK at least for 2 years.

What will you answer when filling the form? "I cancel my PR and apply for the new one"?
