As per my understanding there is no special discount for "first time immigrant" or "new immigrant" on airline tickets by any recognized travel agents. You have to find out a travel agent from your town or nearest city in the country where you live. The air ticket rates are according to place of departure to the destination ( Airport in Canada ). I cannot give any clue without knowing from where you are planning to fly to Canada.

If you want to fly by the end of February, it's going to be a pretty expensive flight since you are buying last minute.

As Wilson said, there are no discounts for new immigrants.

When you are purchasing your ticket, make sure you look at the cost of one way and two way tickets. It will probably be cheaper for you to buy a two way ticket even if you have no plans on using the return part of the ticket.

Hi lizel. I cant access ECAS but we saw a DECISION MADE on Feb.3 and just waiting for that decision. we are thinking a positive result and now trying to search for good travel agency to buy ticket from.

If you can make Feb 20 work, it looks like there are tickets available for CA$840 on United Airlines from Manila to Saskatoon. The next cheapest is Feb 28 for $1028. On some days this month the cheapest fare is over $1700 so hopefully you can make Feb 20 work for you Otherwise, look at fares a month out when the prices drop again (e.g., March 4 is $840 and March 13 is $754 as of now).

I suggest avoid traveling via the US unless you have a US visa or visa exempted passport.

i've waited 14 months before ma-DM. Im still waiting for my papers though. they received our application on Dec.21,2011, though it was sent Oct.2011. We are told that its going to be 1 year process but unfortunately for us it took more than a year. I have undergone an interview as well unlike other applicants they just received their papers w/o being asked for more documents. Hubby and i are just really disappointed bcoz we thought i can fly there on Dec. and now its Valentine's day and still are apart. Once i get my papers,he want me to fly there asap. so hopefully before the end of this month.

Ok hello there if ur from oct.applicant and u just had ur interview and dm.i was curious when was ur medical expire.did they not ask for remed for u? Cause medical is only gud for 1year.
