Statement of Purpose
I am
Jaishkumar Laljibhai Prajapati from Anand, Gujarat, India. I have successfully completed
Bachelors of Nursing with 59% in 2015 from Government College of Nursing; Bhavnagar affiliated to Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji, Bhavnagar University. During my bachelors, I have studied various aspects of Nursing, which developed my interest In Healthcare and Leadership. Thus, with a view upgrading myself and expanding my knowledge in the field of Healthcare and Leadership, I decided to pursue a Post Graduate Program Advanced Health Care Leadership offered by Lambton College, Canada. This Ontario College Graduate Certificate program course prepares me for emerging leadership roles within health care settings.
In this Advanced Healthcare Leadership Program, I will be able to integrate patient and family care theories into current practices which are responsive for a variety of cultures, behaviours, situations and environments. Moreover, the core concepts of leadership, quality, respect, dignity, partnership, shared decision-making, privacy and confidentiality and improvements to patient safety are explored to achieve enhanced patient outcomes. I will be able to apply professional leadership concepts as a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team in an organization. Besides that, the coursework also discusses family engagement, cultural considerations, and communication strategies in the healthcare environment. I will be able to learn about Systems Thinking, understanding of Error Theories, Human Factors, Leadership and Negotiation Skills, Strategic Planning, Leadership Culture and Accountability, and advanced coaching practices.
Leadership Communication, Collaboration and Relationships, Collaborative Communication are at the foundation of effective engagement, peak performance and revolutionary outcomes. I will learn about creating the context for collaboration, Open and Skillful Dialogue, Creative Problem Solving and Effective Coordination are essential leadership skills in today's workplace. At present, an estimated 100,000 people occupy health management positions at numerous organizational levels, from department head to chief executive officer. I will learn the benefits and impact of collaboration and apply new concepts as they practice engaging in collaborative communication.
Upon completion of this program, I will have a variety of career opportunities as a Medical Staff Relations Officer, Planning and Development Manager, Marketing and Public Affairs Department and so on.
This program will give me international exposure which will make my curriculum vitae stronger. I must say this opportunity will be life defining.
