Can anyone help me know what's going on?

Hi Guys,

CIC received my application for my wife on Sep 04. And now CIC website status shows :


We received your application to sponsor xxxxxxxxx on September 4, 2012.

We sent you a letter on October 30, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.


It doesn't show like this:


We received your application to sponsor on September 10, 2008.

We started processing your application on May 24, 2012.

We sent you a letter on May 24, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.


My status missed middle part, "started processing your application" WHY??? Did I get refused? Or I need submit more documents?
They said send me a letteron Oct 30. But now it's about 21 days, I still didn't receive any thing. How long will it take to get their mail? I tried to call them, but their machine keep saying everyone is busy.

What you showed at the top looks like they have came to a decision on the sponsorship part of the application... what you have at the bottom will not show up until your spouses application starts being processed still a few months down the road depending on your VO, it just took me 12 days to get my passport back from the VO so yes mail can take a long time depending on how far you are from CPC-M. The letter doesn't have to be sent by mail it could have came by e-mail check your spam folder too just incase you missed it. You could also send an e-mail asking if they could resend it to you that you never received it.

We sent you a letter on August 21, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Depending on the person working on your file, they don't always update with the "in process" status. So no need to worry here.

I signed up for email communication, so the letter was emailed to me same day on Aug 21 that i was approved as sponsor.

Hopefully in your case, it's the confirmation of sponsor approval, and that your app has been sent to your Visa office for PR processing. So there would be nothing for you to actually do. I would give it another week and then call in to ask.

Thanks for the answer, what's their letter going to be? Short of support documents? I am living in Canada Alberta Edmonton, how long could this letter going to take to send to me, 21 days is too long.

Thanks, that make me feel better. But I called them many times, always saying busy, busy, busy......

technically it has only been 14 mailing days you can't count the weekends or holidays. It took me 3 days to get my letter from CPC-M and I live 45 mins from Mississauga that just shows how slow the post office is... try sending them an e-mail tell them you havn't recieved anything yet and it's been 14 days I did this with my passport and got a reply in 3 hours and my passport showed up today... as I said before the application will not say "in process" until they start working on the Primary Applicant's part of the application. Good Luck!
