Can anyone help? I'm very worried !!!!!

Hi all,

I'm a Ph.D. student in the University of Waterloo. I applied for a permanent residence after being legally here in Canada for 1 year. I applied under federal skilled workers category (NOC 4122). I sent my application via regular mail to Centralized Intake Office (CIO) on June 5th, 2010. After that there were some changes in the immigration rules that affect who applied on or after June 26, 2010. Under these new rules I'm not eligible to apply as an international student category. Until this moment I did not receive anything from CIO, nor do they withdraw the fees from my VISA account. So, shall I consider my self to be rejected? Should they send my application back? I tried to contact Call Centre telephone number 1-888-242 2100, but could not get any agent to help me. So, I just want to know whether anyone whose state is similar to mine and received any response from CIO.

CIO is currently processing the application received till 27 May 2010.

You have to wait.....

NOTE: Processing times for Federal Skilled Worker applications received on or after June 26, 2010, are not yet available. For applications sent before June 26, 2010, the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia, is currently working on applications received up to May 27, 2010. This is from the CIC website.

Hi Ayad,
I hope ur application would be considered as it should have reached CIO before 26th June as you posted
it from with in Canada. It wold be considered under old rules provided it was received by CIO before 26th June Wish u All the best.
