It depends. If your NOC is on the list, and it is not one of the popular ones. I.E. registered nurses were full in about 2 weeks last year.

Hi
Your documents have to be ready and sent to CIO by end of July 2012. NOC 3131 /Pharmacist is the 3rd/4th most popular NOC. So you have to hurry. I cannot say for sure what will happen if you send application in August, if your application will fall within the cap or not. It depends on many factors. A list of NOCs and complete applications received by CIO will be put up on the CIC website, during July 2012. So that can give you good idea about how fast its going to fill up.

Best wishes

Take a search through the visa forum as I know there were posts monitoring the growing CAP numbers. Here's one started in Sept, but there could have been others started earlier in the "new year". \There were 195 Pharmacists at 19 September, 2011, but there could also have been a stack of 50 received, but not yet processed. These numbers can be deceiving. What you have to do is focus on the NOC for a number of weeks. Record the total to date, then compare it to the next publication. Divide by the number of days to get the average number of applications processed/day. Do this for a while and it will give you a better idea of when the cap will be reached for your particular NOC. Bear in mind, as the numbers reach the top there will be a flurry.

It's also very dependent on what the cap levels are set at.

In June 2010 there were set at 1000 per NOC, with a total of 20,000- and this total was never reached before July 2011.
In July 2011 they were reduced to 500 per NOC, with a total of 10,000 - and the total cap was reached end of May/start of June 2012.

If they reduce them even further, both the individual NOC cap and the total cap could be reached even earlier.

No way to even begin to guess until we see what the cap levels and NOCs are, if indeed they change.
