Hoping somebody might be able to offer some insight. Everything that I have read about the CAN+ program is that financials are not usually needed to be uploaded through the online system for applicants who have been to Canada multiple times in the last 10 years. In addition I've had that verbally conveyed to me over the phone with the Canadian embassy in Bangkok. This is for my common-law wife. She's been to Canada four times in the last 8 years on TRV.
Everywhere that I have read is that people being processed under CAN+ do not need to supply all the same documents that we have done for the previous four visits to Canada.
After going through the questions and the checklist online it's asking us to upload the following.
Purpose of travel
Proof of relationship
Travel history
Proof of means of financial support
Invitation letter
Family information
Digital photo
Proof of financial resources of supporter... (as we are in a common-law relationship I wasn't sure if I should click yes or no to this because basically we are a married couple, have been together for 10 years and have a child and share financial resources but I'm the primary breadwinner)
Anyway maybe I'm completely confused but it was my understanding that we didn't need to go through all of the same documents and stuff that we've had to document for them before for her to be processed through CAN+
When I spoke to the guy at the embassy he said we would probably just end up having to upload all the pages of her passport and the application form and possibly family information application form but nothing else, he reiterated we wouldn't have to give them our financials. But going through online system looks totally different
Anyway wondering if anybody else has been confused about this?
To me it looks like I'm basically doing the same full application like I've done in the past.
It feels like the checklist system online isn't picking us up as a CAN+ candidate somehow?
Any thoughts?
Cheers
