Can an extra character in the grandfather's name on my passport cause trouble for parent's visitor visa?

I am applying for my parents' visitor visa and noticed that I have an extra "A" in my grandfather's name on my passport.
Does that cause any trouble? Do I really need a affidavit? Or, letter of explanation is enough in this regard?
Please help.

I cannot speak for any of the illustrious group you are summoned, but, pending their arrival on scene, I would say that a name on your passport won't count for much.

You say you are applying for your parents and, while you might be acting as representative, each of your parents is, in fact, making their own application and their passports will count a lot more. I am not familiar with any country that has the name of a relative, such as a grandfather, on passports, but I suppose that's how it is in India, which I believe is the issuing country in your case. Again, I just don't see it as an issue. If it becomes one, I doubt it will loom large. You might have to provide an explanation, but obtaining an affidavit at this point seems like overkill.

Thank you. I only have my passport to prove my relationship with my parents as it has father's name and mother's name. Letter of explanation stating that the extra "a" in my passport is enough in that case?

I would think even letter of explanation not required. But, it costs nothing and won't do any harm, I don't suppose.
