I'm starting school in January, which still gives me time to complete my CAQ, but here's the thing - I just found out I'm being evicted from my apartment on November 30, and I'd much rather head over to Quebec to get settled than find a place to stay for just one month. I've submitted my CAQ application already, but my school hasn't yet given me a letter showing proof of financial capacity that would come from student loans, so I haven't been able to submit my documents. I know that Americans can legally enter Canada for 6 months at a time, but will I be turned away at the border if I show up with all my stuff intending to move and explain my CAQ is currently processing and should be processed before the semester begins? And will I be able to get my study permit somewhere afterward? Thanks!
