After you marry, you can apply to change your status to worker based on her study permit.26 Jan. 2020
NEED HELP, PLEASE!
My fiancee and I came to Canada both as a student. Now, we plan to get married here in Canada. Can I, being her husband by then, convert my student visa to Open Work Permit ?
Thank you very much. Can you please direct me to the link that explains how to do it?After you marry, you can apply to change your status to worker based on her study permit.
Thank you. But this link contains PGWP. My case is, we are both students at present, we came from the same country. We plan to get married before we finished the 2 year program. My question is, after we get married, how do I change my status from student to open work permit base on her status as a student?

so if you are a married student, the spouse can work full time without regulation??? That's crazy
Not sure what you mean about no regulation, as a work permit is required. Being able to apply for an OWP based on a spouse's study permit is nothing new or special.so if you are a married student, the spouse can work full time without regulation??? That's crazy
I did my UG in the US and spouses were not allowed to work under any circumstances which is why I am surprised. Personally, I see it as something that can be abused but maybe it works hereNot sure what you mean about no regulation, as a work permit is required.
