Hi Folks,
One of my friend is going to take medical soon. 2 weeks back he had severe pain of small stone in kidney about 6mm. It took him 2 days to get washed out. Now he is alright. This is the first time he has that kind of problem. I wanna know would he be thru the medical or not. Because the symptoms may appear in urine test again.

Thanks

It wont create a problem but do follow the following advices:

- Go for a Urine Test from outside before going for the final test and make sure everything is ok. These people get crazy if they find any protein in your urine.

- Drink lots and lots of water before giving urine sample so that urine gets diluted and small minor infections, if any, could not be detected

- Avoid strenous exercise before the day of Med

Stay Healthy and all the best

They take xrays for chest so stones wont even be detect unless he advise doctor about it.

Friend, stone may cause protein to come in urine sample and that could further create an issue.
Even a minor infection can cause protein to appear.

The presence of stone in the kidney (or anywhere in the urinary tract) can create red blood cells to appear in the urine test... or pus cells as well, if an infection is created. Once the stone is passed out, the urine test usually is normal. He can double check by doing a urine test and take antibiotics if there is a urinary tract infection. He should also make this a habit to drink lots of water, as re-occurrence of stone is common. Further tests by the DMP depend upon whether or not he declares this in his medical history. If declared, the DMP can do a serum creatinine test to make sure kidneys are functioning properly. If not declared and if his urine test gives normal results, the DMP is not going to find out he had a kidney stone in the past.

Thanks ja77. There is no infection appeared in the urine. It was a small stone which flushed out. He took medicines as prescribed by the urologist. Of course drinking lots and lots of water for the rest of his life. Hope so that DMP would not ask for further medical test.
