Can a refugee in Canada join the Canadian arm forces ?

Can a refugee in Canada, join any of the Canadian armed forces ?

Generally speaking you need to be a Canadian citizen to join. In some circumstances they will allow permanent residents to join. More info here: http://www.army.forces.gc.ca/

If your refugee application is still being process - no, you cannot join.

What are the special circumstances where they will allow a permanent resident to join? How do we find out what those openings are? Plus, is there an age limit cutoff?
