Dear Forum Members

I have my brother who did his landing as a skilled worker 6 months ago, he got his PR card. He is a doctor but finding it very difficult to find a job in Canada. He is thinking of going back to Jordan to finish his residency in pediatrics, This will take him like 4 years, which means he will not be able to fulfill the PR obligations.

Is there any way for him to like freeze his immigration process and resume it after he comes back? Who should he contact to explain his situation?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Sam

I don't think this is possible, I think the only way you dont have to meet the obligation is if you are overseas married to a Canadian or working overseas for a Canadian employer.

There is no freezing. But he can do one thing which people here have been doing. If he is married then he can have his wife settled in Canada and in between can make some trips to Canada to meet his wife. Do his residency in his country. His wife can apply for her citizenship after 3 years. She becomes citizen and can sponsor her husdand anytime. Now he had canadian citizenship and can work anywhere , in Canada if he like or in Jordan.
This is only applicable if he is married.
