Unfortunately you cannot acquire a business without being a PR or citizen. Its illegal on a visitor visa. However, if you go through the PNP(business) route you can immigrate to Canada as well as acquire the business.

You can start a business in Canada without being a resident but have to do it correctly.

Read up on that to give you an idea. Also, obtain a lawyer.

Its best to start a partnership business then going into one yourself, as doing it alone you need to be PR.

But also depends what kind of business.

Best of luck x x

You need to become a permanent resident first.

i agree with your suggestion, if you get residence then you can avail all the facilities which are only specify for the residence people.

I agree with Gautam that you can not buy any business in Canada if you are not the permanent resident of it. You must become an Canadian nationality holder to start or purchase a business in Canada.

As I understand situation has changed.
On our web-site (Business Asset Exchange) we have a lot of offers from different countries, including Canada. But only in Canada one of the main incentives for the deal is getting visa.

Heloo everyone,

I want to ask one question.

Can visitors invest in canada?

Plzz reply me as soon as possible.

Sure - you can invest in Canada.

However this won't allow you to stay in Canada, or live in Canada or work in Canada. You will still just be a visitor and will need to leave Canada once your allowed visit is over.

I agree with scylla.

You can invest and even own part of a business, however you will need a Canadian partner (at least someone with PR status or citizen) . My last information is that at least 25% of the business must be owned by a Canadian.

I also agree that you will not likely be able to get a visa that allows you to stay and work in Canada by buying a business (or shares in a business here). There may be some entrepreneur visa options if you want to look at that, but I suggest you speak to an immigration consultant or lawyer to figure out if that exists, how it works if so, and whether it would be possible for you. My information on this is old and I remember it being very complicated also.

Good Luck
