Hi Im from Venezuela We applied in August 24th 2011
They received August 28th 2011
They return November 7th 2011
Medical done May 2011
Sponsorship Accepted 12th January 2012

In CIC page said Venezuela time proccess is 25 months!!!!Can a family survive the distance???

We are desperate my husband must to keep his job in Canada and all our future belongs!!!!
If he leaves Canada ,the proccess will change because he must to start a new life with me outside Canada so that could make the proccess more long !!!
and the Canadian goverment can think that we dont have anything to start our life there (job, money a place to live)

Yes I understand that Canada must to protect their country for ilegal inmigration but people like as getting the conseqcuences its not FAIR!!!!

Its hard to live so far!

how I can know IF they sent the application to my country???

It's tough bu hang in there. 25 months is the time for 80% of all apps to be complete. It is likely you will be earlier than that given no hiccups in your app

Applications usually reach the visa office 10-14 days after the sponsor has been approved. And the timelines are averages, so your case might take less time than the stated averages.

Immigration is a choice, not a right. With every choice, comes consequences, and the separation of spouses is a consequence of immigration. You just have to deal, same as we all do.

Thanks for your message but is so hard..

We live so far we have spent a lot of money so often to be together we want a family soon babies all...soon
Why some countries the procces is so easy and fast and other so long a ridiculous!!Its not fare!!Why when is a canadian woman who sponsor her husband is more easy??

He was accepted as sponsor living in canada.he is considering move out with me but if he do that ,the proccess could be more slow...I cannot be able to get a visit visa? so I cannot be 25 months without see my husband.!!!

What we must to do????the only thing that we have is have a family with quality of life!!!!

You can ask why and complain that things are unfair, or you can accept that this is how it is, and there is nothing you can do except accept it and deal with it as best as you can. Your husband can save and visit you if you can't get a TRV. If he can't visit often, you will have to do things to stay in touch and keep your relationship strong that are within your ability to do cheaply. Such is life.

You're right that immigration is a choice, and we have to deal. But it still sucks. I don't think anyone conciously made the decision, "I'm going to fall in love with someone who lives thousands of miles away, so that I can fill out a lot of paperwork, pay a lot of money, and wait a year before we can live together!"

Life happens. And while we do have to deal with the system as it is now, surely it can be improved? Why should we deliberately put systems in place to punish people for an accident of birth?

yes the system is crap...
Now im living in Buffalo alone my husband has a nightmare every time when he is crossing the boarder so often to see me...He must pay two rents a lot of money every six month I must return to my country when Im there he must to pay 1200 USD fly ticket...U know that its NOT A LIFE..

I dont planning falling love him all happen and it was the most beautiful thing in my life!!!! We wants a FAMILY have babies soon. And we must dealing with this Fu**k burocracy!!!!
We have been married for almost two years but we applied the last august so we dont see any hope the 25 months that we must suppost to wait...

We need a LIFE....We try to be honest but is hard
Nobody cannot understand us...only a person who is living the same can understand!

Hi..other question...
How i will know that my application was send to my country?
That will be in the CIC web page?

You should eventually receive either a letter by physical post or by email confirming the arrival of your application to Caracas. Some offices take time in sending this out. But it is very unlikely to have any trouble with that,

The problem in Caracas, as we've been told, is that there is a very reduced staff size dealing with a lot of applications and, most of the time, the paper trail in Venezuela needs a lot of work to verify, adding more time. Usually, Visa Offices with fast response time is because they have a good proportion between the amount of staff and the amount of applications filed.

Thanks for your answer I really appreciate and Congrats for the fast of your process.I hope mine will be so fast too..
Yes its so bad the burocracy about the process but anyway we must wait..
Please try to participate in the survey that CIC page has..If everybody participate all can get a result.
Take care
Good Luck

Hi SEVEN,

I am in a similar situation, with my wife's file being processed in Hong Kong (19 months-80% of the cases). So far, we saw each other every 6 months or so, I travelled either in Hong Kong or in China. It is expensive, yes, but it is what it is, it was our choice to be together. We also talk daily on the phone, some days, two times, both me and her have very good long distance phone plans (I pay 3c/min with China), end several times per week we use computer video chats, so we can see each other. So, you see, there are means to keep the relationship strong through this difficult period. We were lucky to get an interview much earlier than expected, but still, it makes almost 1 year since I sent the papers.
Good luck to us all.

Hi Good Luck and patience for everyone....

Both of you can buy magic jack and you can call everyone for only 40 USD every year the only thing you need its internet ...other thing make flight reservations at 11-12 am because all airlines cleans flights and prices will be CHEAP .In addition try to have airlines milles and you can get flights with discounts. ITS the things that we have made because our flights cost around 1500 USD

I have a question Im living in Venezuela (where proccess can take 25 months) and my husband in Canada due to I have American visa,we decided me to move there, one time for 4 months and a second time for 2 months in order to see each other so often.. we are a couple and we wanna be together!!!!He has a job which allow him to have 5 days off, or more so he crossed those days to share time with me..We have paid a lot of money in rents, tickets, bus etc etc..but at least we share more often.

When Im not in USA im in my country but without a formal job because I cannot get one I must be ready to fly to everywhere to be with my love..Im proffesional person I studied International Affairs before got married in 2009 I had importants job...after that i´d had some jobs but short term and i made TOEFL cours and doing volunteers in USA because I have tourism visa not work visa.

Do you think because i did not have a formal job for so long that can be negative for this proccess??? I read they looking for only professional people and good worker....Its true?? What is your opinion?

Thanks bless

Hey SEVEN07, first of all, this doesn't really apply in family sponsorship. The key issue that your relationship is genuine and that neither of you have an outstanding criminal record or debts to the Canadian government. They can not reject a spouse on the basis of other aspects as the purpose of this application would be to reunite you with your family.

Things like education, job history, etc. are looked at more to see if that there are similarities between the couple. I have read that when people who come from a different cultural background and have a very different level of education (one holds a masters degree and the other didn't graduate high school) apply, the CIC may see it as a red flag that it will be difficult for them to be an authentic partnership. But I hardly doubt that this is your case.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have degrees and such, but it is not criteria that is important in your application as such.
